Bellmore-Merrick CHSD kicks off virtual One Voice, One Message races

The School and Community Leadership classes of Kennedy, Mepham, and Calhoun high schools in the Bellmore-Merrick Central School District worked collaboratively with ambassadors and students in Grand Avenue and Merrick Avenue middle schools and the Meadowbrook Alternative Program to launch the One Voice, One Message Virtual Races to benefit the Community Cupboard.

OVOM Run 3 copy“We were outside with the students from MAP and the PREP Academy on Friday to kick off with a lap around the track,” explained Principal Susan EllinghausAt the high schools, students set up booths with information flyers, spirit wear, goody bags and more to encourage registration. 

Students, staff, and community members will have the opportunity to register for a 5K Run, Youth 1M Run, Sprint Duathlon 5K Run/15M Bike/5K Run, 30M Bike, Youth Duathlon 1M Run/4M Bike/1M Run and/or a Youth 5K Bike. Participants will be able to record their time independently during the month of May. 

Registration will also include a T-shirt while supplies last. Winners will be determined in a wide variety of categories.
