A student cast and crew drew a full house during performances of John Caird’s “Children of Eden,” held in the Wantagh High School auditorium this past weekend.
The success of “Children of Eden” was also due to the choreography and use of puppetry
Under the guidance of play director Heather Naughton, vocal director Jennifer Alessi and choreographer Kim Davis, the cast performed the two-act musical with lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. Based on the Book of Genesis, Act I told the story of Adam (Carlo Tobia) and Eve (Bella Ninivaggi), and Cain (Owen Huber and John Sileo) and Abel (Aidan Schroh), while Act II tells the story of Noah (Brandon Schroh) and the flood. Assistant Principal James Brown played the part of Father. Although biblical in content, the play was focused on the universal themes of family and love.
The play’s success came in large measure came not only from the stellar on-stage talent, but to choreographed numbers with puppetry and lyrics, including “Let There Be,” “A World Without You,” and “Ain’t It Good?”
