Historic Train Station To Be Restored

The Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores is restoring The historic Long Island Rail Road  ticket booth, which stands on Pettit Avenue across from the Bellmore firehouse is being restored, It was originally maintained by the Historical Society of the Bellmores, which dissolved on December 31, 2014.

The “Train House” as the Chamber of Commerce of he Bellmores calls it, was acquired from the historical society when exclusive use was granted to the chamber by the Town of Hempstead on January 30, 2015.  After a great deal of research and evaluation, it was decided that the train house structure could be restored. The chamber plans to restore this historical structure of Bellmore history for future use.
