To Build a Better Library

CONSTRUCTION ON TEMPORARY LIBRARY IN FULL SWING: After months of preparation to find a suitable location for a temporary library, and then to await approval from the New York State Department of Education to build one after an empty local building couldn’t be found, the North Bellmore Public Library temporary building is finally under construction. Situated on an old basketball court next to the Bellmore roller rink on Bellmore Avenue, the temporary library will comprise four connected buildings that will act as the temporary home while the 13,367 square foot library is renovated to add 4000 square feet to accommodate more residents while upgrading its technological capabilities and services. Renovation could take up to nine months to a year  to complete.
