North Bellmore Library Closes in on Vendor

Tom Bazzicalupo, director of the North Bellmore Public Library, told Your NewsMag requests for proposals to refurbish the existing library of 13,367 square feet – by adding 4000 square feet to accommodate for more growth and better services to patrons – were waiting to be returned so a contractor can be named.  Once the contractor was named, up to four mobile buildings would be placed on space presently occupied by basketballs courts next to the roller rink on Bellmore Avenue, and connected to form a temporary structure to house the library’s current collections. Bazzicalupo anticipated March as the date when construction would begin on the existing library building, and the library moves into its temporary quarter
