Long Island Crisis Center Training for Counselors

The Bellmore-based Long Crisis Center asks the community to get involved and become a lifesaving partner to those youth at risk for suicide.  No counseling experience is necessary and the hours are flexible to accommodate the individual needs of volunteers.

Completion of the Counselor Assistant training is a prerequisite for the Crisis Center’s Counselor Training, which begins in September. The free, comprehensive orientation training program takes place over 3 three-hour sessions at the Crisis Center’s office in Bellmore.

July’s training will be held on three successive Wednesday evenings from 7-10 p.m. on July , 12 and 19.  August’s training will be held on three successive Tuesday evenings from 7-10 p.m. on August 8, 15 and 22.
