Nassau police are investigating an attempted bank robbery that occurred on Thursday, March 03, at 5:40 p.m. in Merrick.
According to detectives, a white male entered TD Bank, 2260 Merrick Road, approached a teller and handed her a demand note. After the teller tore up the note and threw it in the garbage, the subject, who was described as being 5-foot, 6 inches to 5-foot, 9 inches tall, clean shaven, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses and gloves, fled the bank without any proceeds and was last seen heading through the parking lot.
During the incident, five employees and two customers were present. No injuries were reported.
