Kennedy Seniors Collect 96 Coats for Assemblyman McDonough

Senior class officers at Kennedy High School organized a successful coat drive during the holiday season to benefit New York State Assemblyman David McDonough’s (R-Merrick) ongoing efforts.

According to Senior Class President Steven Obadiah, the officers made announcements over the loudspeaker and posted reminders on social media.

“We collected 96 coats and sweatshirts,” he said.

This is the 12th coat drive that the assemblyman’s office has hosted to benefit various human services’ organizations on Long Island.

“Each year it gets bigger and bigger,” Assemblyman McDonough said.

The assemblyman presented the officers with a certification of recognition for their efforts.
