GAMS Students Visit TV Newsroom

Members of the Grand Avenue Middle School Communications Club and Newspaper Club recently visited News 12 Long Island Studios.

Students were treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of the studios that included a walk through the newsroom, a visit to the editing and graphics design offices and a live demonstration by a camera engineer. An invitation to the on-air studio was the highlight of the tour.

They met News 12 Meteorologist Rich Hoffman, who took a break from forecasting the weather to interact with the students and answer their questions about careers in television news broadcasting. The students then interacted with some of the studio equipment and delivered a weather report in front of the blue screen.
