Nassau County police arrested a North Massapequa woman on Tuesday, September 22, for a grand larceny that occurred in Bellmore.
According to First Squad detectives, a female victim, 73 years of age, had asked her friend Maureen Adamo, 52 of Briarwood Road, to assist her with making sure her bills were paid while she recovered from a medical procedure.
Beginning in January, 2015 Adamo began to forge checks from the victim’s account and deposit them into her own account, totaling a loss in excess of $50,000.00 . Detectives located Adamo on Tuesday, September 22, in Bethpage and placed her under arrest.
Adamo is charged with Grand Larceny and four counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument.
