A Bellmore Eagle Has Landed

Boy Scout John D’Vanzo of Bellmore’s Boy Scout Troop 192, based at the Bellmore Presbyterian Church on Bellmore Avenue in Bellmore, received his Eagle Scout Honor recently from Nassau County Presiding Officer Norma Gonsalves (13th LD).

John undertook the task of planting new trees at the Norman J. Levy Park and Preserve in Merrick to replace all the trees lost during Hurricane Sandy.

Gonsalves said that John showed a lot of determination in helping to restore the community. “These ne trees at the park will allow residents to continue to enjoy the beautiful environments accessible throughout the county. I wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavors.”
