A Merrick resident has been arrested at his home for disseminating indecent material to a minor, which was reported to Nassau County police on November 18, 2014.
According to a police report from Major Case Bureau detectives of the Nassau County Police Department, between October 1 and December 1, 2013, Nicholas Caruso, 21, of Old Mill Road, posed as a 15-year-old male so that he could communicate over the internet with an 11-year-old female, who resides in Arizona, in order to perform sexual acts over the internet to the child.
Further investigations revealed that Caruso had created on his computer child pornography files of himself performing sexual acts while children between the ages of 5 and 11 years observed him via the webcam on a chat site.
Major Case Bureau detectives, along with the FBI Long Island Child Exploitation Task Force, arrested Caruso at his home on Wednesday, April 29.
He is being charged with five counts of Disseminating Indecent Material to Minor and, three counts of Possession Sexual Performance by a Child.
