Fifth-graders at Shore Road School in Bellmore demonstrated their scientific knowledge, displayed their creativity and showcased demonstrations for visitors at the annual fifth-grade science fair this week.
The students worked with Kennedy High School students to maximize their research potential.
The talented young student-scientists received certificates of excellence for their work, which included studies on whether vegetables sink or float, optical illusions and what materials make the best parachutes.

As a special collaboration with the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District, science research science research students from Kennedy High School were on hand, dressed in long white coats, to examine the projects and view demonstrations.
