Chief Deputy County Executive Rob Walker and Legislator Dave Denenberg declared Wednesday, May 28, as Thomas Reynolds Day in honor of the brave 13-year-old Bellmore resident who fought a valiant battle against brain cancer.
The declaration took place at Hurricane’s Grill on Stewart Avenue in Garden City before close to 20 of Thomas’s family and friends.
“This is a great day to honor the memory of Thomas Reynolds,” remarked Walker to this website. “County Executive Ed Mangano was all for recognizing this day to honor Thomas,” he continued.

Legislator Dave Denenberg added that “Thomas’s struggles are our everyday struggles,” adding that Thomas played a vital role in Bellmore community as well as the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School in Bellmore, where Thomas went to school.

SEAS renamed its gym the Thomas Reynolds Gymnasium in February 2011 in honor of Thomas.
The Thomas Reynolds Foundation is raising thousands of dollars in Thomas’s name.
