An Inwood man was arrested in North Bellmore on Tuesday after a robbery attempt at a gas station went wrong.
According to Nassau Police, Gregory J. Scott, 59, of Bayview Avenue, entered the office of Xtra Fuel Gas Station at 2663 Jerusalem Avenue and took an unknown amount of U.S. currency from behind the counter.
First Squad detectives said a male employee, 53, then confronted Scott and a struggle ensued. A second male employee, 77, heard the disturbance and assisted in restraining the Scott until police arrived. First Precinct officers soon arrived and placed Scott under arrest. The second employee suffered a laceration to his hand but refused medical treatment.
Scott is charged with two counts of Robbery, and is expected to be arraigned in First District Court Wednesday.
